Answer - The previous December, Ball had flown to Spain and obtained two revolvers from a Madrid shop.
He had to smuggle them because owning firearms in England required special permits and licenses which Ian did not possess.
4. What do you think Ball had written in the letter addressed to Queen Elizabeth?
Answer - I think he had demanded 3 million pounds ransom from the Queen Elizabeth.
5. How was NGN 1 different to other royal cars?
Answer - Like other royal cars, NGN1 had neither bulletproof windows nor emergency radio.

Answer - Ball accelerated and swept past the royal limousine to avoid a collision.
7. Who did James Beaton think Ian Ball was?
Answer - James Beaton thought Ian Ball was an angry motorist.

Read paragraphs 7 to 14 and complete the following notes.
1. Ian Ball's first bullet scuffed Beaton's jacket and the second bullet hit his shoulder and pierced lung.
2. His third bullet was aimed at chauffeur Alec Callender and it hit his chest .
3. Rowena Brassey tried to help Princess Anne to escape by scrambling out of the left rear door.
4. Ian Ball threatened the bodyguard by saying that 'drop that gun If he did not then he will shoot the Princess.
5. Beaton's automatic probably got jammed because the gunshot to his shoulder weakened his grip.
6. A tug-of-war developed between Ian Ball and Mark Philips.
7. Ian Ball wanted to kidnap the Princess because he will get a couple of million.
8. Ball's fourth bullet hit the window and struck James in the palm.
